The Business Plan Competition is co-hosted by APISBP (Asian Pacific Islander Small Business Program) and US Bank. Winners receive cash prizes ranging from several hundred dollars to one thousand dollars.

The top three winners of the competition were announced at the 18th Annual Asian Small Business Expo – Expo Kickoff Media Event on Wednesday, October 4: Clementines Mandarin Preschool (1st place); Porta Stepper, a low-impact portable exerciser (2nd place) and Bar-B-Qusion, a Kansas City BBQ and smoked meat fusion food truck (3rd place).

API SBP Executive Director Ron Fong, US Bank Senior Vice President Darrell Brown, and SBA district director Victor Parker were present at the press conference on Wednesday. Maile Plan, Field Representative of Congresswoman Judy Chu, attended the press conference too.

World Journal and Daily Star PH reported the event. World Journal used the title of “Chinese-American Woman Won Award for Her Lightweight Leg Exerciser Invention” and specifically introduced our product in the article.

Porta Stepper Exerciser is a compact, lightweight device which is designed to be easy to use and with good resistance. It is great for seniors and people who sit for a long period of time in particular. Porta Stepper is sold on Amazon.

With help from a lot of people, we turned an idea into a product. We want to do our part to help others by donating the total  cash prize ($500) we received from this competition to Stand Up To Cancer — This Is Where The End Of Cancer Begins.
